About - This course uses actor’s technique and audience awareness to help students gain performance knowledge and practical skill sets that ensure confidence and experience with public speaking. Taught by qualified tutors with over 25 years experience in both the acting industry and corporate sector, the course is designed to build confidence in a non-competitive environment. Students will be expected to participate in partner and group acting exercises, taking on the role of both public speaker and audience member as part of the learning experience.

1. Understanding the role of public speaker- expectations and required skill set, the art of preparation.
2. How to work with nervous energy positively and how to reframe effectively.
3. Developing effective body language, stage presence, vocal resonance and hand gestures.
4. Developing a message with clarity and purpose, knowing your material and core messaging, using props, slides and additional technology.
5. How to command an audience’s attention and maintain it. Inspire an audience to action, when required.
6. Improvisation and presentation live skills- optional presentation to class peers and tutor. Feedback and Certification.
